Mechanical-Electrical Engineer. 25 years of experience. Trained in welding and Not Destructive Testing. Has visited mills in Belgium, Finland, Mexico, Poland, Sweden & USA as an employee of three Mexican steel distributor for operations of the likes of Carrier, Crown, GE, Halliburton, Schulberg, Weatherford… As a key deliverer to the Mexican metal fabricators, he has extensive knowledge of their requirements and processes. He has been instrumental in coaching Mexican vendors when assigned reverse engineering projects for parts when the previous supplier owns drawings or they have not been updated. Such is the case of Brooks Automation, which required tight tolerances in a cryogenic vacuum pump to be used in the semiconductor industry. Like each of our team members he epitomizes the subtext in our logo: Have Knowledge – Will Travel.

Daniel Gutiérrez

Management Expeditor

Mechanical Electrical Engineer, MBA. 28 years of experience. 23 of those in the manufacturing, transportation and installation of precast concrete elements. Knowledgeable in manufacture and machining castings, and aluminum die cast parts, complemented by secondary operations such as: trimming debarring, surfaces finishing, machining processes like drilling and tapping; assembly and tests. He deals with foundries and machining suppliers in all of Mexico who can either use existing drawings or propose reverse engineering from parts supplied by our clients. He can discuss Mexican vendor development issues in English with the technical stakeholders. He currently has found several Mexican options to fulfill our client’s need for making in Mexico parts facing delivery contingencies from Chinese suppliers.

Master degree in Organization Development. 25 years of experience. One of the initial consultants to hire when you start a new operation in Mexico. Her responsibility is to teach your corporate and local employees about the Mexican laws to abide. She is savvy in labor union contracts and dealing with local and federal organizations. As an employee, she spent six years CAT, where she was certified in 6-sigma. Valeo found her for its SLP large operation. Afterwards, she was hired as the leader to launch temporary shelter operations in central Mexico for American and European companies like Anderson, Caparo, Dymos, Flexitech, Frankishe, Omron, Samot, Webasto. she has advised Tier-1 automotive like Keihin and Autoneum. She is free to travel and comment on  swiftly establishing a new operation anywhere in Mexico.

Chemical Engineer, MBA. 35 years of experience. Six Sigma Master Black Belt graduate from GE in Atlanta. Certified in Lean Manufacturing in Nagoya, Japan. Spent 7 hands-on year as a supervisor in Akra (Mexico’s largest polyester and nylon fiber extruder) and 17 as operation manager of 3 plants for AcuityBrands (a global commercial lighting manufacturer); responsible for metal fab, roll forming, paint and assembly. Savvy problem solver. He can deploy the Lean Six Sigma culture based in TPS to improve safety, quality, productivity and profitability. He has certified several operations in ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 17025:2006. Experienced working in operational issues with corporate HR areas requiring training of workers in OSHA/EPA related issues as applicable in Mexico and grooming technical managers in soft skills.

More than 15 years experience developing  & managing suppliers in Mexico, Turkey, Canada, USA, China & Europe. Began as Product Engineer for General Motors supplier, learning GD&T, APQP and PPAP. Leader on ISO9001 & OHSAS18001 certification later used to develop vendors in Mexico for Halliburton and Taiwan.
Has developed these products types: Wire Harness, Metal fabrication Aluminum extrusions, Rotomolded tanks, Hydraulic Cylinders, Conveyors, Hardware, Heavy Weldments & Motors, he is a versatile professional capable of managing complex machines/systems developments. Before your plant layout is completed, she advises on the design to comply with storage and handling of hazardous materials. Prior to deploying in Mexico an operation, she visits a similar existing operation and advises on the differences you may have encounter in Mexico. Before joining Cosmexico, he spent ten years developing a detailed portfolio and promoting available industrial land and facilities for the commercial real estate firm NAIGlobal. Where he was the star independent agent in Central Mexico. He developed a reliable method to perform site selection analysis considering all ‘musts’ ―costs, location, area, electricity, water, clear height, environmental issues― and a few ‘wants’ ―labor availability, security, local suppliers, bilingual talent, government incentives… He has deep knowledge of the options for in-house generation of power and the grid of natural gas distribution. He can present our clients with updated options of available buildings or green-fields in and out of industrial parks in ten central Mexican states.

Industrial &Mechanical Engineer, MSc in Mechanical Design. 35 years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication. Worked for Emerson Laminations and Trane-Ingersoll Rand. He escalated positions and became Plant Manager of a large stamping and powder coating operation to make commercial lighting fixtures for Acuity Brands. He was instrumental in transferring knowledge from Poland, Denmark, Italy and the Czech Republic to Mexican operations established in the Northeast. For the last five years he acts as a consultant for metal fab companies in need to train the floor personnel to reduce scrap, work-in-process and implement demand-flow-technology techniques. He is free to travel and meet with our clients to jointly arrive to adequate solutions to install or improve their new operations.

Mechanical Electrical Engineer. 25 of experience implementing energy savings programs in large operations. He has spent most of his career developing projects to reduce the cost of energy to heavy users. These can be establishing training programs, modifying systems, and using natural gas to produce in-house electricity in large operations. In projects where expensive equipment is required for non-core activities, he has deployed alternatives when the natural gas supplier buys, installs and maintains equipment to produce electricity, steam, or cooling capabilities including HVAC. He is familiar with Mexico’s nationwide natural gas grid and applies this knowledge to evaluate site options where this is critical. He can lead auditing and training activities to teach employees on minimizing the use of energy in their workplace.    

Carolina Hernandez

Attorney At Law graduated from the State University of Nuevo Leon. As a retained team member, she is responsible for applying, facilitating, and expediting the issuance of business and operational licenses, registries, and other legal documents that the activities of our clients might require. She also verifies the proper compliance to Mexico´s Civil Law System of commercial and employment contracts. When properly empowered from abroad, she can represent clients in issues when they want to avoid visiting Mexico just to sign a relevant document. She is familiar with operational legalities as required for connecting utilities and properly applying and obtaining environmental permits. Carolina is also able to train workers in complying with prevailing laws as mandated in Mexico by the Federal Labor and Health authorities.

Jose is an Informatics Engineer with a MSc in Applied Geomatics. He has over 30 years of experience in managing relevant and updated statistics useful in site selection analysis. His reports are based on facts and are quite convenient when contrasting opinions foster dysfunctionality in a project. He places on a decision matrix issues like regional security, cost of land, skilled labor availability, human development, nuclear families, technical schools, or clusters in Mexico of operations classified under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Based on his ranked reports our clients sort out the most adequate locations to launch a new operation in Mexico, instead of focusing just on one or two aspects.

Nicolás Castro

Machinery Mover

Mechanical Electrical Engineer, MBA. 45 years of experience. 32 at Mexico´s largest fibers producer Akra. Began managing  projects in polymerization, PET polycondensation and spinning; responsible for detailed engineering, civil design, building construction, electrical and mechanical erection and production start-up of a 400,000 sq. ft. facility. He is instrumental in disassembling, rigging and installing equipment. Which he has done for projects sourced in Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea and several locations in the USA. Assignments as a consultant were: installing gas tank farm and feeding lines of Brooks Automation, which need liquid nitrogen, helium, oxygen and argon. Launch the rubber parts operation to supply GE. Relocate P&G lines from Connecticut to Queretaro. Install 25 overhead glass melting units to make fiberglass from Bremen, OH to Saltillo. His key role is to visit an operation, discuss with the floor stakeholders, and define how to efficiently transfer the M&E technology.   

Javier Flores

Electricity Master

Mechanical Electrical Engineer. Savvy second generation electrical expert. 25 of experience designing, calculating, and installing internal power grids that comply with Mexico’s federal government power supplier known as CFE (Federal Electricity Commission). He has provided these services for dozens of projects in more than half of the Mexican states as well as in two Central America countries. His expertise comes handy since the budgetary period. Facilities engineers not aware of Mexico’s requirements would easily understate the cost of the initial electricity installations. Moreover, if our clients ―serviced elsewhere by private energy providers― unavoidably must deal in Mexico with CFE: close to be a monopolistic supplier in the whole country.  

Jaime Vallejo

Machining Expert

Mechanical Engineer. 28 years of experience in machining special steel, titanium and aluminum alloys to make high-precision parts as required by the semiconductor or space industry. If given a drawing, he can make the tooling. If given a sample, he can duplicate it and develop its reverse engineering. He has sustained knowledge in most advanced models of CNC equipment and helps shops in making high volume runs by reducing the machining time per part, by designing and making jigs and fixtures, or by improving their manufacturing processes. He can also advice in metal tube bending and welding, and in line assembly of metal parts as required by our clients.       

Marcela Ortiz

Mechatronics Engineer undergraduate. Passionate about technology. Experienced in web design. Capable of programming in Python, HTML, CSS, Flask, CNC, C++/C#, PHP. Marce, as we call her, has worked with lab instruments and simulation software for electronic projects, software of CAD, image and video design and production being these Azure/Git/GitHub, AutoCad, Fusion 360, ispLever, Proteus, Multisim, Matlab/Scilab, Photoshop, Camtasia/Snagit, Canva. Participated with methods such as Design Thinking and CANVAS entering the patent phase. Co-founder of tech communities and organizer of events with technical people from several countries. She is able to travel abroad to evaluate her participation in projects dealing with her competence and the specialist members of our client’s organization.
