Site Selection

Site Selection

Using tailored tools to find the most adequate options.

We have supported our client’s efforts in some of these zones more than once.

Geographical locations where we have assisted our clients to compare and select the most adequate to their strategy.

Confidentiality, protects us all from unwanted attention and distractions, that can influence the outcome of the site selection process. We avoid out-of-context leaks that can be seen on the internet, or known by land speculators, competitors, suppliers, clients, and employees. Your site selection team must take precautions to not reveal the corporate identity or nature of the business. Your team members act through us. We do not disclose our client’s identity.

Inside every organization, some key members may feel against the project. Identify them early on. A discrepant may act as a saboteur. We suggest you include corporate leaders early on to promote an understanding of the analytical process of our site searches. To reduce dysfunctional decisions, we travel and supplement the information in your corporate offices to reduce discrepancies based on the updated data we provide.

Several factors emerged recently in Mexico, that make site selection more complex. They are changes in the allocation of electricity, new legislation regarding labor, and environmental issues. Job-fostering areas are becoming saturated with out-of-the-state and job-hopping immigrants. These require a higher degree of analysis. We can help you here.

Consider Mexico’s demographic traits and search for a zone promising to be a good fit. List features that your project must have like power-gas-water capacity, proximity to an airport, to the border. List desirable items that may lean your decision towards one option over another (availability of local suppliers, bilingual candidates, business hotels nearby). Assign a ranked percentage of importance to each item. We assist our clients’ teams in developing this tool.

Avoid embracing a project with an “ideal” site in mind and refusing to deviate from it. Expect setbacks or bad news. The perfect site doesn’t exist in Mexico. Always compare a handful of options in several Mexican cities. Analyze community trends with local peers. Get to know locals in your field who may comment on average wages, unions, security, natural incidents, blackouts, floods, challenges… We can introduce you to qualified members of our network.
